The Irish Cancer Society provides a number of services for cancer patients and survivors. These include:

  • A Cancer Nurseline (1800 200 700), which is now operating seven days a week, with hours on Monday to Thursday 9am to 8pm and Friday to Sunday 9am to 5pm. Our nurses can talk people through any concerns they have about their diagnosis or treatment, while our entitlements team can give them information on their financial and other entitlements.
  • We have started a new phone counselling service as people can no longer attend the face to face counselling we fund in local cancer support centres around the country.
  • Our Night Nursing and Volunteer Driver services are still operating and are following guidance from the HSE on minimising the risk of coronavirus on patients, staff and volunteers.

All of these services are free of charge.  I would be most grateful if you could please share this information with your Community Response Forum and Community Call helpline staff.

We are happy to support you in any way we can, and if you have any queries at all, please contact our Advocacy team at advocacy@irishcancer.ie.
