You are invited to register for a series of upcoming in-person workshops organised by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht (DRCDG). These workshops will help shape a new Framework for Collaboration between philanthropy, government, and the wider sector.
These workshops form part of the implementation of the National Philanthropy Policy 2024–2028, launched in December 2023. The Policy aims to deepen understanding of philanthropy, create an enabling environment, and accelerate engagement for social good across Ireland.
A key commitment within the Policy (Action 17) is to agree clear frameworks for public–private engagement on philanthropic initiatives.
The Framework will address areas such as:
- funding principles and decision-making
- roles and responsibilities
- learning and accountability
- risk-handling and governance.
To ensure that this Framework reflects real-world experience, the Department is hosting a series of workshops designed to place sector voices at the centre of its design.
What to Expect from the Workshops
Participants will take part in structured exercises that:
- explore decision-making, risk, pace and governance across sectors
- surface opportunities, tensions and practical needs
- share examples of successful and challenging collaborations
- directly inform the development of a practical, usable Framework.
