The HSE’s National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) is hosting a webinar as part of the 2025 SunSmart campaign on ‘SunSmart for Parents- – Protect children’s skin from sunburn and sun damage’.
The webinar is being held as part of the annual SunSmart campaign which runs from April to September.
The webinar will highlight new research commissioned by the HSE NCCP on ‘Parents’/Guardians’ Attitudes, Behaviours, Knowledge and Awareness of Sun Protection in Ireland’.
Skin cancer clinical nurse specialists (CNS) Louise Fleming and Aoife Moloney from St Vincent’s Hospital will also discuss the importance of sun protection for children and raise awareness on steps parent/guardians can take to look after children’s skin.
It is hoped this webinar will help improve the adoption of the SunSmart 5 S’s and highlight the importance of sun protection for parents and their children.
