
The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan TD, has published the draft National Strategy for Improving Community Safety, and is inviting feedback on the draft from until 5pm on the 11 September 2026.

This draft Strategy – ‘An enabling framework for community safety’ – aims to respond to the needs and concerns of communities and help public services and communities work together in a joined-up way to make communities safer.
The draft Strategy has been informed by an extensive consultation process led by the National Office for Community Safety on behalf of the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration. Further information on the consultation process can be accessed here.
