Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh, officially launched the Fingal Sports Equipment Grants at the Fingal Sports Awards, furthering the County Council’s commitment to supporting local sports clubs in enhancing their equipment and training resources.
The Fingal Sports Equipment Grants provide vital funding for clubs to invest in essential equipment, helping to improve training sessions and overall club operations. Two funding streams are available:
- Essential Sports Equipment Grant – Up to €1,500 for everyday training essentials, available annually.
- Large Sports Equipment Grant – Up to €4,000 for significant equipment investments, available to clubs every two years.
Speaking at the launch, Mayor McDonagh highlighted the importance of the grant in strengthening Fingal’s sporting community:
“It gives me great pleasure to officially launch the Fingal Sports Equipment Grants this evening. Fingal Sports Office is committed to supporting our local sports clubs; these grants are designed to help clubs access the equipment they need to enhance their training sessions and develop their facilities. We understand how important this support is for local clubs, and we want to ensure every eligible group has the opportunity to benefit.”
Fingal Sports Office is inviting applications from community-based sports clubs operating within the Fingal administrative area. To qualify, clubs must be formally established for at least 12 months, have 80% of their members residing in Fingal, and be affiliated with a Sport Ireland National Governing Body.
Applications will be assessed based on merit, and successful applicants can drawdown funds upon approval by the Council.
