International Women’s Day at Balbriggan Library

Celebrating the milestones of ethnic minorities in Ireland. 

Balbriggan Library is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 on Friday March 8th. On this global day of celebrating the socio-cultural, economic and political achievements of women, please join writers Melatu Uche Okorie, Neo Florence Gilson, and Gonchigkhand Byambaa as they read from their work and discuss their practice. Hosted by Christodoulos Makris. Melatu Uche Okorie is a Balbriggan-based, Nigeria-born author and scholar, and a member of the Arts Council of Ireland. Neo Florence Gilson is a Cork-based, South Africa-born poet, singer, writer and storyteller. Gonchigkhand Byambaa is a Dublin-based, Mongolia-born writer and human rights activist. Christodoulos Makris is “one of Ireland’s foremost avant-garde poets” (The Irish Times).
