Flip the Script – Decision Making Skills Group Facilitation Course

Are you a health and social care professional working with adults with intellectual disability?

Do you want to support people to learn independent decision making skills?

Beyond Ordinary have developed Flip the Script, a course that teaches a specific method of group facilitation that welcomes mistakes, risk and real life learning. They have run and evaluated Flip the Script groups and have successfully;

  • supported the learning of decision making skills
  • facilitated everyday decision making opportunities
  • created opportunities to navigate risk, conflict and failure

This free 8 week course will challenge your inherent beliefs and assumptions about providing support as a Health and Social Care Practitioner. They will examine the history that has lead to certain assumptions and work to dismantle biases through practical group facilitation. The organisation, Beyond Ordinary, has won funding through Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and the Oakfield Trust to roll out this pilot course.
