Designated Liaison Person Training Course

Fingal County County’s Community Facilities Management Support Unit is hosting 2x two-day Designated Liaison Person training courses facilitated by the National Youth Council of Ireland and have some spaces remaining. The training takes place over two full days and the cost of the course is covered.

The overall aim of the DLP Training is to give participants the opportunity to explore the role and responsibilities of being a DLP, and to give participants information and guidance on good practice in order to carry out this role effectively. The objectives of the course are:

  • To set the context for the role of DLP (exploring safeguarding responsibilities, values, compliance with legislation and current policy)
  • To understand the requirements and the elements of this role (reporting, managing information, managing allegations against staff/volunteers/young people, informing parents)
  • To examine the role of Túsla and An Garda Síochana and the importance of partnership working.
