Community Climate Action Fingal

There are 3 drop-in information sessions for the new Community Climate Action Programme grant on Thursday evenings in October 2025 as follows.

Blanchardstown Library Thursday, 9th Oct. 5- 6.30pm

Balbriggan Library Thursday 16th Oct. 5- 6.30pm

Malahide Library Thursday 23rd Oct. 5- 6.30pm

Round 2 of the Community Climate Action Program will open for applications end Oct 2025.

 

Community Climate Action Fingal

Community Climate Action Fingal supports climate actions at community level for community/ voluntary organisation’s buildings, gardens, facilities and services. A wide range of projects were approved for funding during the first round. Round 2 is now being prepared in advance of the grant being announced by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications. There are five themes in the grant Community Energy, Travel, Shopping and Recycling, Food and Waste and Environmental/ Climate projects.

The aim of the grant is to reduce existing emissions.

Here is a list of the types of community projects which were approved in the last round.

  1. Replace doors
  2. Replace windows
  3. Replacement of lights to upgrade to LEDs
  4. Insulate Attic
  5. Insulate walls
  6. Replace glazed area with more efficient glazing
  7. Install Solar PV
  8. Install Solar PV and Battery
  9. Insulate piping for heating systems
  10. Develop or Improve Community Garden
  11. Install composter
  12. Replace hand-roll dispensers with efficient hand dryers
  13. Plant (200) trees or native hedging, fruit trees or berry bushes
  14. Develop a Nature space for biodiversity and amenity
  15. Purchase items to run regular swap shops
  16. Purchase reusable cups for club
  17. Purchase and install bike lockers
  18. Purchase and install bike parking (including any civil works)
  19. Purchase and install water bottle fillers/ drinking water fountain (including any civil works)
  20. Purchase and install bike repair station (including any civil works)

The Community Climate Action Grant is administered by Fingal County Council Environment, Climate Action and Sports Department.
