The Context: The Gambling Regulation Bill 2022 is currently going through the legislative process and is expected to introduce further regulatory oversight and marketing restrictions, which could have a significant and negative impact on the ability of charities to fundraise through raffles and lotteries.
The Briefing: Cian Clinch, partner with Hayes Solicitors, will be on hand to provide an overview of the existing Gaming and Lotteries (Amendment) Act 2019 (and what changes the new legislation will introduce. Also there will be Kathleen O’Meara, Public Affairs Consultant, who will bring you up to speed on their advocacy campaign on the Bill and the important next steps.
