Media, especially digital media, is central to our lives and the technology behind it is changing all the time. During this talk, Aoife Barry, a freelance journalist and broadcaster, will explore topics such as AI, verifying information and protecting our data, as well as avoiding digital pitfalls like scams and misinformation. Aoife is the author of Social Capital, about the impact of social media on our lives in Ireland, which was nominated for an Irish Book Award in 2023. Given her extensive experience in the sector, she is keen to give an insider’s view into how the media works and affects our daily lives.
