Once more World Haemochromatosis Awareness Week takes place this year from today 1st June until 7th June. In the lead up to the week, Fingal County Council Civic Offices on Grove Road has been lit up red as part of the ‘Light Up Red’ campaign, to mark awareness week. Ireland has the highest rates of haemochromatosis or iron overload in the world; 1 in 5 of us are carriers and 1 in 83 are at risk of developing it. For more see: www.haemochromatosis-ir.com
