would like to invite you to a very special pre-launch briefing for the We Act Campaign.
This new Soft Launch Town Hall session will be a chance for you to find out all about the campaign, and learn how you, and the groups in your area, can get involved.
We’ll be revealing the designs behind the campaign, sharing the campaign toolkit and showing you how organisations can fold the campaign into their own activities and communications.
As Public Participation Networks, you play a vital role in our communities and we want to make sure you hear all about the campaign before it goes live in a few weeks’ time. The campaign presents a great opportunity for community and voluntary groups in your area to have their stories heard and show the impact they have in our communities every day.
Thanks to the incredible input of the sector so far, the We Act campaign – focused on elevating the stories of impact from our sector – is launching publicly on 27 October. And we all need to be ready.
This exciting briefing is all about how you can be part of We Act. It’s not to be missed!

A Recap
Last year, a group of sector representatives came together to lay the foundations for a brand-new campaign, which would showcase the incredible value and impact of the charity and community sector to the public.
The group is made up of Boardmatch, Charities Institute Ireland, Disability Federation of Ireland, Dóchas, The Wheel, and Volunteer Ireland who formed a campaign steering group.
The campaign secured funding from The Community Foundation for Ireland via its RTÉ does Comic Relief Fund.
Your involvement
Charities, community and voluntary organisations and social enterprises from across the country have shaped this campaign from day one. You:
- May – Attended Campaign Townhalls to actively explore the possibility of a public awareness raising campaign and help shape the campaign from the beginning
- June – Participated in landmark research on the sector’s sense of pride, morale and public understanding
- July – Gave invaluable input on our draft concepts and creative to shape its direction
- September – Attended We Act communications training in your hundreds
- October – Sent us photos of your organisation in action for us to include in campaign designs
Now, please join us as we gear up to go public! This is a campaign BY Ireland’s charities and community groups, FOR Ireland’s charities and community groups, and it will take all of us stepping up to make it a success.
We look forward to making a big splash together over the coming months.
