Fingal County Council (FCC) in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) is proposing to develop the Sutton to Malahide Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme which will provide a safe, high quality, sustainable transport and recreational route to link Sutton, Baldoyle, Portmarnock and Malahide.
The proposed scheme will encourage recreation while offering an attractive alternative transport choice for school children and commuters to bring significant environmental, economic and health benefits to the wider community.
The proposed scheme has been has been designed for people of all ages and mobility levels to travel safely on foot, wheelchair or bike, and will offer a route separated from road vehicles for maximum safety along the vast majority of the route.
The route will form a key part of the NTA’s Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network and will link into existing walking and cycling facilities at the Baldoyle to Portmarnock Greenway and onwards to the S2S and the Clontarf-City Centre Cycle Routes.
Anyone with an interest in the scheme now has an opportunity to give comments and feedback on the scheme currently proposed by Fingal County Council.
