Environment Candidate – 1 – Candidate Information Environment
Name | Angela Rogers |
Organisation | Blanchardstown Village Tidy Towns |
Statement | My names is Angela Rogers and I have worked as a volunteer in the community in Blanchardstown for most of my life both as a member of Residents Assocation and most recently Blanchardstown Tidy Towns. I recently participated in the development of the Fingal Integration Strategy. I have been a committed member of the Fingal Public Participation Network since it started and believe it has the potential to ensure citizens have a voice in policy and decision making which influence the development of Fingal as a local authority and makes Fingal a better place to live. I am hard working and committed and believe my experience on the ground as a member of FPPN will be a valuable asset which will assist in the development of our PPN. Finally, I will ensure that the environmental pillar is well represented. |

Name | John Melvin |
Organisation | Malahide Lawn Tennis Club |
Statement | I have spent three and a half years on the Secretariat and have contributed significantly to the development of Fingal PPN, including its strategic plan, its governance code, as facilitator (twice), in mediation with Fingal County Council, in interview boards in selecting staff for Fingal PPN and in acting as liaison with Fingal County Council. I wish to continue to contribute to that development particularly now that the Covid 19 Pandemic has disrupted that development and there is a significant amount of such work left to be done, including both organisationally, procedurally and nationally. I also intend looking at the potential role micro PPNs could play in the PPN structure. |
Name | Todd Pocius |
Organisation | Mount Eustace Tyrrelstown |
Statement | One of the founding members of Mount Eustace Residents’ Association in Tyrrelstown and currently chairperson of the organisation. Passionate about community development and sustainable growth in Fingal with various communities being at the heart of the process. |
Name | Robert Loughlin |
Organisation | Meakstown Community Council |
Statement | I have been a Community Rep for four years with two different organisations and chaired both. I ran in the Local Elections as an Independent on community issues and finished 6th in a 5 seater, 80 votes short. I am passionate about fairness and real equality for Fingal’s citizens. I am an absolute straight talker and prefer actions to words. I have engaged many people and organisations in my role and I have no fears speaking in a room that needs an issue heard. I have six kids who are affected by the various issues we have in Fingal: resources, facilities, planning etc. and I am very driven by youth issues in our community. |
