Rush Community Council starting a project two weeks ago to produce cotton face masks for distribution to over 65’s in the village and those who were cocooning. With financial support from Fingal County Council we purchased material, elastic and packing bags, Local seamstress Carmel made a pattern, a group of willing volunteers set to work stitching and making over 1500 masks. On Friday May 1st members of Rush Athletic and St Maurs GAA together with other volunteers delivered the masks around the village. Chairperson Eamon Price was delighted with the response from the public, people are pleased that they can now use the masks when the restrictions are lifted to go to the shops. Rush Community Council Centre Manager Debbie Donnelly will continue to distribute the masks over the next couple of weeks to the vulnerable members of our community. A great example of ‘community working for community’
