International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th, and many events are held around the world to mark the occasion. The overall aim of these events and activities is to celebrate the progress made, to call for change, and to celebrate the acts of women.
Fingal She Leads, an Initiative of Fingal County Council is inviting local community & voluntary groups and services to register their event to feature in the 2023 Fingal International Women’s Day (IWD) programme. This programme will provide information about community activities taking place on the day (or week of IWD) and the organisation leading the activity. This will serve to generate a greater awareness of IWD and this will effective encourage participation and engagement from the wider community in your event.
Some examples of events include
· Conferences and seminars to discuss issues related to gender equality and women’s rights.
· Cultural events to celebrate the cultural contributions of women, such as art exhibitions, poetry readings, and music performances.
· Awards ceremonies to recognize the achievements of women.
· Networking events to connect women working in different industries or fields.
· Online events such as webinars, online panel discussions, and social media campaigns.
· Social Media campaigns to promote IWD, post about inspiring women, and share messages of support for gender equality.
· Fundraisers for women’s charities and organizations.
