About this event

Join Laura & Ciarán of Islander Architects for a free interactive architectural workshop for teenagers on June 11th as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2022.

Plyscape is a chance for young people to come together and build shared experiences through an exciting day-long workshop. Plyscape allows participants to build increased agency over their built environment as they customize and assemble plywood structures. Participants will work with demountable plywood elements allowing them to build, reconfigure, and rebuild over the course of the workshop.

Each participant will receive a set of prefabricated plywood shapes that they can join together to create a variety of collective temporary installations. There will be mixed media available on the day to allow the participants customise their plywood elements. With this simple kit of parts they will explore their creative expression and in doing so transform the public realm for the better; from a single chair to a performance space – the possibilities are endless!

All Plyscape participants will get to keep their customised plywood elements for reuse in the future. Together we will create better, inclusive public spaces.
