Literacy for Life – Understanding Literacy, Numeracy & Digital Literacy in Ireland (FREE Webinar – 13 June)

Irish nonprofit organisations interact with and serve individuals and communities across Ireland every single day. And, with as many as 42% of Irish adults struggling with basic digital tasks such as looking up a website or sending an email, this puts these organisations in a unique position to be able to champion adult literacy and to highlight the many supports available.

If you and your organisation would be interested in stepping into this space, you are invited to join The Wheel for a free 90-minute Literacy for Life webinar on Tuesday, 13 June (10am – 11.30am).

This webinar will provide you with an overview of:

  • Literacy – causes and extent of needs
  • A look at how literacy impacts participation in society
  • Fostering a ‘literacy friendly’ approach in your organisation
  • Available adult literacy supports and referrals
  • The Adult Literacy for Life Strategy and how your organisation can help make it a success!

Why it matters

By refreshing your organisation’s understanding and awareness of the literacy needs of the wider community, this should help to bolster and update your own communications and outreach as you engage daily with service users.

Similarly, if your own staff or volunteers needs to brush up on their existing reading, spelling, maths or computer skills, this free webinar will also point them towards the resources they need to succeed.

Attendance is free for this webinar, but you must be registered to attend.
