Fingal County Council is calling on key Community Groups who are willing and can coordinate a support service within their locality to express their availability to the Council to help our response to the COVID-19 health emergency.

This call for support is in line with the COVID-19 Fingal Community Response Forum which the Council are seeking the help of key community groups within localities across the country.  Priority will be given to those who already have gone through a Garda vetting process.

The Forum is a dedicated community support helpline and email address which is being established in Fingal to assist at risk members of the public in accessing non-emergency and non-medical supports and advice during the current public health emergency.

The confidential phoneline service is being established by the new COVID-19 Fingal Community Response Forum, which includes over a dozen agencies and organisations. The helpline is focused primarily on ensuring that vulnerable members of the community or those living alone can access deliveries of groceries, medicine and fuels.

The support that the Council will be providing includes collection and delivery of food, essential household items, medication, meals, signposting to relevant support agencies.

There has already been a huge outpouring of support from the public wanting to help the most vulnerable members of our communities.  The Council is asking for key community groups to sign up as responders to help these vulnerable people access critical goods.

The Council through our Public Participation Network (PPN), will be gathering all groups who sign up as responders into a database to best coordinate a support service.  If you are a key community group within your locality and wish to sign up as a responder, please complete s short online survey
