Creative Ireland’s Annual Children and Young Adults’ Day June 12th 2021

Cruinniú na nÓg, Creative Ireland’s annual day of free creative activity for children and young adults takes place on June 12th 2021 and Fingal County Council is delighted to announce an exciting and varied programme.

The programme has a combination of outdoor, live and recorded virtual events features a Dublin Zoo Webinar, Coding and Podcast Classes, Make and Do workshops, a Bespoke Interactive Radio Piece, a Story Trail set in the beautiful demesne of Ardgillan castle, Hip Hop and Dance classes, Music Tutorials, and young adult interest stories to name but a few. Cruinniú na nÓg 2021 will be a day filled with happy memories for all of the families, children and young people that get involved.

Free as a Bird  A Creative Movement Workshop with Dublin Youth Dance Company.

An uplifting adventure exploring movement, space, music and play! Facilitated by the exceptional Dublin Youth Dance Company, this inventive dance workshop can be enjoyed in any family setting, indoors or outdoors.

Podcasting 101 for Teens 4 week course with Rob Flynn

Join audio producer Rob Flynn for a podcasting workshop specially focused for teens. Podcasting is a fun and accessible way to develop creative skills and release content to a worldwide audience. Over four hour-long online workshops, attendees will learn about conducting interviews, recording, editing and more, everything they need to know to turn an initial idea into their very own podcast. The dates are the 12th,19th, 26th of June and the 3rd of July. 

The event will be a live session starting at 2.00pm. Pre-registration is required by clicking the Eventbrite link below. (An unlisted link to a recording of the event will also be sent on to those who registered though Eventbrite).

Scratch Coding

Learn how to design and create your own character in Scratch!  Using the awesome graphics editor of the free online coding platform Scratch, you will learn how to create a character and how to animate them. Work alongside Sabine of Creative Computing Classes Skerries and learn how to shape and reshape, change colours, and group objects… until you end up with your very own character.

During this interactive Zoom session, you’ll be able to ask any questions and show off your work in progress to the group. All you need is a computer that’s connected to the internet, ideally with camera and microphone so the others can see you, too. You’ll also need a Scratch account. Please set up your account with a parent/guardian before the course.
