Science Foundation Ireland would like to invite you to a virtual Community Activation event for Creating Our Future – a Government of Ireland campaign to stimulate a national conversation that generates ideas from the public to inform the direction of research in Ireland.
Anyone, anywhere can have an idea that inspires research. It could be based on an opportunity or challenge that someone has identified in their own life, for their community, for Ireland or for the world. Or it could be based on a topic that someone is curious or passionate about. The campaign wants to hear them all – whatever facet of life they relate to.
From now until the end of November, the campaign will be reaching out to engage people, groups and communities in our events and activities. Central to this is working with community and voluntary organisations across the country to activate and engage with their members and the wider public in the campaign to capture their ideas.
This virtual Community Activation Event will provide you with an opportunity to hear more about:
- the background to and objectives of the campaign from Simon Harris T.D., Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science
- the roll-out of the campaign across the country through our road show and virtual events
- the practical steps you and your organisation can take to support and benefit from the campaign as well as guidance on how to engage your members and the public
Date: Thursday, 9th September 2021
Time: 11:00 – 12:30
You can register for the event here.
You can also find out more about the campaign in this short info sheet, and can start submitting your own ideas at http://www.creatingourfuture.ie
