The weather was certainly on our side as the first St. Patrick’s Day parades since the Covid-19 pandemic made a triumphant return to the streets of Fingal. There was an incredible carnival atmosphere on the streets of Swords, Blanchardstown, Rush, Lusk, Balbriggan and Skerries as thousands of jubilant spectators lined the parade routes cheering and waving flags.
On Friday, March 18th Fingal County Council held a special Remembrance and Recognition Event at Malahide. The event was held to pay tribute to all those who steered us through the Covid-19 pandemic and to remember those who lost their lives. The evening drew to a close with a spectacular fireworks display which illuminated the night sky.
Swords Castle Chapel was the location for a candle lighting ceremony which was attended by Mayor of Fingal Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh, Fingal County Council Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly, members of the frontline emergency services and members of the public who all gathered for a period of reflection and acknowledgement.
