An election taking place at 7pm pn Tuesday, 26th September 2017 in County Hall, Swords. The successful candidate will represent Fingal PPN on Fingal County Council Strategic Policy Committee that covers their work on Economic Development, Enterprise and Tourism.

Following a call for nominations, we have two nominees for this position, they are Denise McDermott and Kesava Gollapalli, please find their biographies below.

Denise McDermott – Fingal Counselling Service

Denise has always been interested in how society changes and develops and inparticular, the development of communities. Denise returned to education in 2008 and studies for her degree in Humanities. She studied psychology and history, however, her main focus was on sociology. It was towards the end of her studies that she started volunteering for a community based counselling service.

Denise’s role as administrator of Fingal Counselling Service involves working closely with the board of management, preparing for and attending management meetings. “I am someone who knows how to set goals and achieve them and have a proven track record of being able to conceive, develop and execute strategies. I feel certain that my strong communication skills coupled with my interest in community development will be of immediate value to Fingal PPN.”

Denise enjoys working with people and believes she has the confidence and interpersonal skills to communicate, meet and engage with people from all walks of life.

Kesava Gollapalli – Fingal Ethnic Network

Kesava believes that Public policy is the focal point of Government Activity.Tourism has become an integral part of the machinery of many modern Governments and many Government progammes in both developed and developing countries.

“This role involves identifying new measures and ways of implementing policies that create employment, encourages enterprise and building an ecosystem to promote culture, tourism and integration. I believe, with my experience in industry, community projects and at enterprise level, I am sure I have the ability to fulfill the needs of this position.”
