Message from the Secretariat
It is with delight that we publish our activity report for the latter end of 2017. It is fair to say that it has been a very busy year for Fingal PPN. We would like to welcome three new Secretariat members who were elected in May 2017, John Melvin, Mary Harford and Siju José.
We currently have ten Secretariat members. Two seats have vacated since the May 2017 Plenary meeting. We would like to extend our thanks to both Jakub Jura-Zajac and Kieran O’Neill for their time and dedication over the last few years and wish them both the best going forward. Of course, Kieran is still a Fingal PPN Representative for the Planning Linkage Group. These vacancies will be filled at
our November Plenary meeting.
In April / May 2018, at least three Secretariat members will retire from
community and voluntary seats. We aim to fill these seats with environment
and social inclusion representatives. This will then normalise our Secretariat
membership going forward with equal representation from the three Pillars:
- Community and Voluntary
- Social Inclusion
Going forward into 2018, we will focus on the strategic development of the PPN with the preparation of a 2018 – 2020 Strategic Plan, a Wellbeing Statement and a Policy and Positions piece. These pieces of work will strengthen our purpose and mandate. It will also ensure we are adding value to our work and our sector. To do this we need your continued support and participation of our membership. Your on-going input, direction and backing is what we need to continue the development of the PPN.
We would also like to acknowledge the on-going support of Fingal County Council, in particular the Community Development Office.
In this edition of the Fingal PPN Activity Report, you will find updates on our:

- and more!
